GitLab is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst focused on Cloud Hosting to join its Financial Planning and Analysis team. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, you will serve as a finance partner providing timely, fact-based analysis and decision support for cloud and AI infrastructure investments across the organization.
Key responsibilities include managing and reporting on cloud and AI-related expenses while maintaining forecast models that incorporate actual results, usage drivers, and business drivers. You will execute recurring month-end close activities including accruals, allocations, reconciliations, variance analysis, and close commentary. You'll support forecasting and annual planning cycles, building or enhancing financial models to answer evolving business questions.
You will partner closely with engineering, product, procurement, accounting, and finance stakeholders to gather inputs, resolve data questions, explain results, and support spending decisions. A core part of the role involves accessing and analyzing cloud billing information from provider consoles and other data sources, translating findings into clear narratives, recommendations, and decision-support materials for leadership.
You are expected to use AI tools to automate and improve recurring analysis, reporting, data preparation, and other finance workflows while enhancing data quality, accuracy, scalability, and operating efficiency. You will own deliverables, communicate progress and risks proactively, and manage changing priorities in GitLab's distributed, asynchronous environment.
Required experience includes FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or finance business partnering with exposure to vendor spend, forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end close. You need strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to work with detailed data, investigate variances, evaluate financial trade-offs, and build models from scratch. Experience with cloud and AI vendor spend is required. Cloud cost management and FinOps experience is preferred but not required. You must be able to translate complex financial and operational information into clear narratives for cross-functional stakeholders and work independently in an asynchronous environment.
