Clutch is a vertical SaaS platform backed by Andreessen Horowitz that transforms credit unions into fintech lenders. As a Senior Forward Deployment Engineer, you'll operate at the frontlines of AI innovation and financial services, delivering solutions directly to clients. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role for builders who want to solve real customer problems and shape the future of the product.
You'll work alongside Credit Units to develop customized solutions for their most critical business challenges. The Forward Deployed Engineering team drives client success by ensuring products are deployed, configured, and optimized for each client's unique environment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are technically sound and aligned with client goals.
Within your first three months, you'll ramp up on Clutch's products, processes, and customer base while developing deep understanding of clients' infrastructure and technical needs. By six months, you'll independently lead deployments and integrations, troubleshoot production environments, and become a trusted technical advisor. Within nine months, you'll own large-scale deployments and complex rollouts, provide structured feedback to product teams, and drive improvements to deployment processes.
You bring 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong TypeScript proficiency across full stack (Node.js backend, React frontend). You use AI tooling natively in your workflow, have experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and excel at navigating production systems. You're comfortable traveling up to 50% to client sites (flexible based on preferences), have excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, and operate with a bias for action and client-first mindset.
