Salary: GBP 60,000 - 70,000 / annual

You'll join the Financial Reporting team as a Senior Analyst, reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager. This role is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or CA) with audit background and experience in financial reporting and controls outside of practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing insightful management commentary by understanding Monzo's business and products
- Collaborating with engineers and data teams to automate reporting processes, freeing you to focus on high-value analysis
- Optimizing the accounting system to minimize manual reporting elements
- Owning financial reporting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure they're scalable and relevant
- Supporting the full year-end process, including annual report drafting and external auditor coordination
- Reviewing new products and assessing accounting implications for implementation
- Evaluating changes in accounting standards and proposing policy updates
- Maintaining and developing controls for financial data protection and balance sheet substantiation
- Implementing the new accounting system to maximize efficiency
- Supporting ESG and sustainability reporting
- Preparing monthly management reports with meaningful analysis
- Assessing accounting impacts of new contracts in collaboration with business and legal teams
- Supporting month-end close processes
- Resolving ad-hoc finance inquiries including forecasting, valuations, and tax research
You'll thrive in this role if you have strong attention to detail, fascination with banking and regulatory landscapes, solid understanding of financial controls, self-starter mentality, and ability to translate complex information for diverse audiences. The team is tackling exciting challenges including EU expansion, new product launches (Monzo Mobile, Habito integration), climate change reporting, and lending business growth.
