The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Finance Manager and support Banyan's portfolio of high-quality software businesses. This role spans all aspects of finance operations including revenue recognition, accounts payable and expenses, cash management, financial reporting, and analysis. The position is ideal for someone with interest and aptitude across finance operations and systems, with a focus on leveraging financial data to drive shareholder value.
Key responsibilities include: preparing timely and accurate GAAP financial statements, board reporting, budgets, and KPIs for operating companies; performing quality assurance on finance and accounting work products such as GL postings and revenue recognition; contributing to operational performance through budget-to-actuals analysis, portfolio benchmarking, and revenue/expense analysis; partnering with M&A colleagues on acquisition integration; implementing process improvements from M&A business cases; developing ad hoc reports and dashboards for CEOs; documenting Standard Operating Procedures to promote best practices across the portfolio; and providing financial advice and guidance to the business.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance/accounting role, qualification or part-qualification from a recognized financial/accounting body, solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and experience with financial systems (Oracle NetSuite is an asset). Required skills include excellent attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, high motivation and energy with interest in entrepreneurship and software, and fluency in both German and English.
