Salary: GBP 84,200 - 99,000 / annual
Monzo is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the Commercial Finance team, partnering with the Borrowing collective. You will support the Flex Credit cards, Loans, and Overdraft portfolios, managing P&L and Balance Sheet to deliver the financial plan and drive strategic financial decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary liaison between the business and finance, supporting senior leaders on commercial projects, analyzing product performance, and providing day-to-day business support
- Conducting deep data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and insights that improve profitability and growth, including scenario analysis on customer engagement, strategy, and pricing
- Analyzing and scoping new markets and products, designing commercial terms for business cases, and negotiating with partners
- Presenting findings and collaborating across engineering, legal, risk management, product, strategy, and marketing teams
- Designing and building new processes to support effective decision-making as the company scales
- Supporting the development of a team of financial analysts with clear development objectives
You should have demonstrable experience in financial business partnering with senior leaders, driving commercial and revenue-generating projects, and evaluating business cases. Strong financial modeling skills (advanced Excel/Google Sheets) are essential, with SQL/Python data extraction experience preferred. You'll need excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and experience building business cases and presenting investment choices. Background in retail banking with credit understanding is preferred; you'll use NPV and ROE frameworks to drive profitable strategy. Hands-on approach, attention to detail, and organizational skills are important for developing and streamlining processes.
