IonQ, a publicly traded quantum computing platform company (NYSE: IONQ), is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to support members of its Executive Leadership team. The company is the world's leading quantum platform and merchant supplier, delivering integrated quantum solutions across computing, networking, sensing, and security. IonQ's quantum computers have been helping customers including Amazon Web Services and AstraZeneca achieve significant performance improvements in drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, logistics, cybersecurity, and defense. This role is deeply integrated into the day-to-day operations of IonQ's leadership and requires a partner who can handle traditional administrative support while providing substantive engagement across the organization. The ideal candidate acts as a force multiplier, ensuring executives remain focused on high-level strategy by managing the complexities of their schedules, communications, and special projects. Key responsibilities include: comprehensive executive support with complex calendar management, meeting logistics (space preparation, catering, technology setup), and travel coordination; managing executive inboxes by triaging emails, responding as a proxy where appropriate, and prioritizing urgent communications; independently scheduling meetings based on business priorities and project milestones; attending key meetings to record minutes and track action items; collaborating with Finance on budget requests and departmental financial goals; leading inter- and intra-departmental projects with action plans and stakeholder accountability; arranging intricate domestic and international travel including multi-leg itineraries and visa documentation; organizing and submitting precise expense reports; evaluating requests for executive time to determine delegation, decline, or prioritization; and executing special assignments as needed. The role is based onsite at either the College Park, Maryland headquarters or the Bothell, Washington office. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years of administrative support experience, with at least 5 years specifically supporting VP and above leaders - Proven track record of managing executive operations within a fast-paced technology environment, including substantive inbox management - Sufficient business acumen to understand industry terminology, work methods, and basic budgeting/reporting processes - Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions regarding executive priorities, communications, and approvals - 3+ years of experience managing complex international and domestic logistics - Experience successfully balancing the needs of multiple executive stakeholders and navigating overlapping priorities - Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - 10+ years of total administrative experience, emphasizing long-term partnership with senior leadership - Background or education in a technical field (Hardware, Software) or Finance - Formal project management experience or certification
