Homebase is a fast-growing SaaS platform helping small businesses thrive, currently accelerating ARR growth 50%+ year-over-year. As Senior Engineering Manager for Product Growth, you'll lead the engineering team building the systems that drive acquisition, activation, and retention—from first click to paid customer to account expansion.
You'll be the engineering counterpart to the Director of Product Growth, owning the full growth funnel end-to-end. Your team will build acquisition funnels, onboarding flows, product-led growth (PLG) loops, and lifecycle retention systems. You'll partner deeply with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to ship high-impact experiments at velocity, measure with rigor, and scale what works fast.
Key responsibilities include: leading a team of engineers focused on growth engineering; partnering with product and design leadership on growth strategy; driving high-cadence A/B testing and experimentation infrastructure; leading engineering for AI-driven personalization and onboarding intelligence; hiring and coaching engineers for craft and impact; making architectural decisions that enable speed without technical debt; and operating with urgency to remove blockers and keep the team focused.
You'll need 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years managing teams, a track record in growth/platform/product engineering in fast-paced SaaS or consumer tech, and robust fluency in growth engineering concepts (funnel analytics, A/B testing, activation/retention mechanics, PLG). Strong data instincts, experience building or integrating AI/ML features, and active AI fluency are essential. Excellent cross-functional communication skills required. Bonus experience includes PLG in B2B SaaS, familiarity with small business products, and mobile-first growth surfaces.
Homebase offers stock options, TFSA/RRSP matching, comprehensive health coverage, flexible PTO, paid AI tool access, family support, and a hybrid rhythm with required in-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
