Tilt is a fintech company operating across 14 countries, using machine learning-powered credit models and real-time financial signals to provide fair access to credit products. The company serves millions of customers worldwide with mobile-first solutions.
You will join as Senior Engineering Manager for Cashalo, Tilt's Philippines business. This is a people-management role leading an established, high-performing backend and mobile engineering team of 11–12 engineers. You will serve as the functional leader for Cashalo, working closely with the local General Manager on day-to-day operations and strategic decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing an existing high-performing backend and mobile engineering team
- Serving as functional advisor to the Cashalo GM, embedded in partnership with local leadership
- Owning ambiguous, cross-market problems requiring sustained focus and multi-stakeholder alignment
- Bringing proven engineering and product patterns from other Tilt markets while adapting to regional requirements
- Running and interpreting concurrent, interdependent experiments to drive business outcomes
- Traveling to the Philippines approximately once per quarter (4–6 times annually)
The role is 100% remote, based in Australia, Singapore, or the Philippines, with flexibility across the APAC region.
Requirements:
- Deep, demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams
- Product-first orientation; comfortable operating with existing technology rather than defaulting to rebuilds
- Ability to tackle broad, multi-stakeholder problems: identify root causes, align stakeholders, and drive to resolution
- Experience in startup or scrappy environments
- Actively leveraging AI in daily workflow, building and using AI agents as default practice
- Ability to engage in robust technical discussions with Staff+ engineers despite moving away from day-to-day coding
- Willingness to travel 4–6 times per year to the Philippines
