Commvault is seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in C++ to join its distributed storage platform team at locations in Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Pune. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining core components of a high-performance enterprise software platform used by over 100,000 organizations worldwide for cyber resilience and data protection.
Key responsibilities include architecting and building scalable distributed storage systems, participating in technical design reviews, writing clean and well-tested code, debugging complex production issues, and mentoring junior engineers. You will drive innovation across the platform while maintaining product quality, reliability, and security standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver customer-centric solutions.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of software development experience with strong C++ and object-oriented programming expertise. Deep understanding of Linux and Windows internals (process, memory, storage, networking) is essential. Hands-on experience with debugging tools (gdb, WinDbg, ProcMon, Wireshark, tcpdump) and proven ability to analyze crash dumps, memory leaks, deadlocks, and race conditions. Strong background in microservices, service architecture, client-server patterns, and distributed systems. Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, OOP design, and design patterns. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software development best practices.
