Salary: USD 131,000 - 175,000 / annual
Infleqtion is commercializing atom-based quantum technologies for sensing and computing applications. We are seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to develop high-performance embedded systems that support our quantum computing mission.
You will collaborate across physics, electrical, software, and opto-mechanical engineering teams to architect and implement optimal embedded solutions. Your primary focus will be developing testable, performant, and scalable RTL (Register Transfer Language) using SpinalHDL, with expertise in high-performance signal processing on programmable logic devices. You will architect processing chains with supporting analytical models to ensure critical design requirements are met, and support hands-on tuning and troubleshooting in laboratory and test bench environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL using SpinalHDL for quantum computing applications
- Collaborate with physicists and cross-functional engineering teams
- Architect processing chains and analytical models for signal processing
- Support lab tuning and troubleshooting of embedded systems
- Implement modern software engineering practices: revision control, CI pipelines, static analysis, automated builds
- Participate in design, code, and data reviews
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience
- Expert-level proficiency with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
- Comfortable in Linux development environments with Python and bash scripting
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: testing, git, error handling, documentation, code quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong collaboration skills
Preferred experience:
- AMD Xilinx programmable logic devices (especially Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC)
- RTL development in high-level functional languages (Scala/SpinalHDL)
- HDL for RF waveform synthesis, closed-loop control systems, image processing, or matrix accelerators
- Embedded Linux OS distribution builds (nix, Yocto, Buildroot)
- Compiled languages for Linux/baremetal targets (especially Rust)
- Experience leading small technical teams or projects
