Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, and manufacturing to deploy autonomous systems at scale. In this role, you will own financial planning and decision support for compute, cloud, data storage, and technical infrastructure across Atoms' businesses. You'll build bottom-up financial models that determine infrastructure budgets based on workloads, capacity, utilization, architecture, data growth, and unit costs. Your work will directly inform capital allocation and technical strategy. Key responsibilities include: - Partnering with engineering, AI, data, and infrastructure teams to forecast demand and quantify the financial impact of technical decisions - Evaluating vendor commitments, capacity investments, and build-versus-buy tradeoffs (cloud vs. owned infrastructure) - Developing infrastructure unit economics and identifying opportunities to improve utilization and cost efficiency - Supporting long-term capacity planning and infrastructure investment decisions You'll need 3–6 years in an investment-facing environment (investment banking, private equity, or similar) with direct exposure to capital deployment or investment decision support. Direct experience modeling cloud, compute, storage, or AI/ML infrastructure costs is essential. You should be comfortable building detailed cost models using technical and operational drivers, understand infrastructure cost structures (usage, utilization, capacity, networking, vendor pricing), and be able to partner credibly with technical teams while translating infrastructure requirements into clear financial recommendations. The role is based in San Francisco, New York, or Los Angeles, with five-day-per-week onsite collaboration required. Base salary is $200,000–$280,000 annually, plus equity and performance-based bonus eligibility.
