Stash is seeking a Senior Director of Strategic Finance to lead the company's Financial Planning & Analysis function and drive operational excellence in support of its mission to democratize wealth creation for everyday Americans. Reporting directly to the CFO, this leader will own FP&A strategy, financial planning, forecasting, and management reporting while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
Key responsibilities include leading an established Strategic Finance team; owning company-wide budgeting and forecasting processes; developing financial and operational KPIs that drive decision-making; partnering with business leaders to evaluate investments and optimize resource allocation; preparing board and investor materials; conducting complex financial modeling and scenario planning; and supporting corporate development initiatives including M&A evaluation and due diligence.
The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, preferably in high-growth technology or fintech. Required skills include strong financial modeling, valuation, and business analysis; deep understanding of financial statements and accounting principles; expertise in subscription business metrics (ARR, CAC payback, LTV:CAC, cohort retention); and demonstrated success building and leading high-performing finance teams.
Additional qualifications include excellent communication and executive presentation skills; advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency; familiarity with planning systems and BI tools; and experience leveraging AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to redesign finance processes and automate manual reporting. Experience with M&A, strategic investments, and corporate development is strongly preferred. The role requires comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
