Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy autonomous systems at scale.
As Senior Director of Strategic Finance, you will serve as the primary finance partner to one of Atoms' business units, owning forecasting, planning, and performance management. You'll work closely with business leaders and the CFO to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform growth, drive efficiency, and guide capital allocation decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead budgeting and long-range planning for your business unit
- Build and own best-in-class financial models
- Evaluate critical initiatives across revenue, margin, and cost structure
- Track performance against KPIs and identify underlying drivers of variance
- Shape the strategic direction of your business unit
- Partner with operations, product, and go-to-market teams on pricing, resource allocation, and cost optimization
- Ensure capital is deployed with discipline and aligned to company priorities
You'll need a Bachelor's degree in a STEM or highly analytical field, plus 10+ years of total experience including:
- 3-6 years in an investment-facing environment (investment banking, consulting, private equity, or hedge funds) with direct exposure to capital deployment or investment decisions
- 6+ years in an in-house finance role partnering closely with operators to drive business performance
You should demonstrate strong problem-solving ability with structured thinking and intellectual rigor, plus a collaborative mindset and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
The role is based in San Francisco with five-day-per-week onsite work. Compensation includes base salary of $200,000–$280,000 annually, plus equity awards and performance-based bonus eligibility.
