Flex is a growth-stage fintech company revolutionizing rent payments by enabling users to pay throughout the month on flexible schedules. This Senior Director role owns the full product partnerships function—a zero-to-one build reporting to the SVP of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships. You will develop and execute the strategy that unlocks enterprise value across Flex's capability stack, spanning payment networks, processors, credit bureaus, data providers, and risk partners. Your mandate includes three core pillars: **Strategy & Value Creation**: Build the deepest understanding at Flex of the capability landscape—who provides what, at what economics, and where the market is headed. Partner with Product, Risk, and Finance leadership to map capability gaps, identify margin opportunities, and drive clear build-buy-partner decisions. Develop business cases with unit economics modeling, market sizing, and competitive analysis that earn executive conviction. Pressure-test opportunities quickly to concentrate team energy on the biggest levers. **Negotiation & Deal Execution**: Lead complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations with strategic partners. Structure creative economics—incentive agreements, volume commitments, tiered pricing, revenue shares—while protecting Flex's flexibility and long-term optionality. Own the full deal cycle from thesis through term sheet to executed contract, working closely with Legal, Finance, and Product. Run renewals and renegotiations with the same rigor as new deals. **Relationship & Portfolio Management**: Own the most senior relationships with Flex's key partners, building executive trust and multi-year strategic alignment that earn preferential terms and early access to new capabilities. Define success metrics for each partnership, instrument them, and own the operating cadence—QBRs, performance reviews, escalation paths. Monitor portfolio health continuously: economics versus model, performance versus SLA, and capability versus competitive landscape. **Function Build**: Stand up the Product Partnerships operating model, playbooks, and team as the portfolio scales. Create repeatable processes for evaluating, negotiating, launching, and managing partnerships across their full lifecycle. Report portfolio economics, pipeline health, and forecasts to executive leadership. Serve as connective tissue across BD, Product, Design, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Risk & Compliance. The role requires 12+ years of experience spanning product partnerships, business development, and strategic relationships in fintech or adjacent high-complexity B2B environments.
