Xendit is a Southeast Asian payments infrastructure company expanding globally into Greater China and LATAM. This role owns the end-to-end market entry strategy and execution for new geographic markets.
You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating candidate markets based on size, regulatory environment, payment rails, competition, and merchant demand. You'll build detailed business cases including cost-to-launch, cost-to-operate, revenue projections, and breakeven analysis, then present these to leadership for go/no-go decisions.
Key responsibilities include developing licensing strategies (build, buy, or partner), selecting appropriate license types, and managing regulator engagement. You'll drive foundational setup including entity incorporation, license applications, bank account opening, and scheme/rail access—coordinating across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Corporate Secretarial, Treasury, Product, and Finance.
You'll own one timeline, budget, and risk register per market, convening cross-functional teams and escalating risks early. A critical part of the role is building a repeatable playbook: creating stage gates, application templates, standardized business case models, and handover checklists that make subsequent market entries faster and more efficient.
Finally, you'll support hiring country commercial leads and hand over markets once they meet a defined readiness bar. The role reports to Financial Partnerships leadership with direct exposure to the CRO and CEO. You'll influence without formal authority, relying on preparation, relationship-building, and follow-through.
Required: 3+ years running complex cross-functional programs to committed dates (management consulting, corporate development, or fintech/payments experience valued). Working knowledge of payment regulation, banking, and infrastructure. Strong commercial and financial modeling skills. Exceptional written communication. Global operator mindset with ability to work across cultures and regulatory environments. Bachelor's degree in analytical discipline.
