Teamworks is the operating system for elite sports organizations, serving D1 college football programs and professional franchises across the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. The company has recently completed several acquisitions positioning it to build a unified, AI-first platform connecting coaching workflows, talent acquisition, and on-field performance analytics.
As Senior Director of Product, you will own the product strategy and roadmap across Teamworks' Coaching, Player Personnel, Recruiting, and Intelligence products—a portfolio built through both organic development and acquisition. You will lead a team of product managers and product leaders across multiple sports markets and geographies, ensuring coherence and alignment across this complex, multi-market environment.
Key responsibilities include defining a cohesive AI strategy that spans football, basketball, and other sports, identifying shared workflows (opponent scouting, talent evaluation, recruiting operations, free agency, contract decisioning) where AI agents create leverage, and translating that thesis into a multi-quarter roadmap. You will serve as the external face of this product line, representing Teamworks in customer meetings, league partnerships, enterprise RFPs, and industry forums. You'll drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, data science, product marketing, GTM, and finance, staying relentlessly close to customers including front offices, coaches, coordinators, GMs, scouting directors, and league operators.
You will partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Teamworks' data teams (PFF, SportLogiq, Zelus) to convert proprietary data into proprietary AI agents, making deliberate calls on which capabilities are platform-level versus product-level. A critical aspect of the role is identifying workflows that look the same across football and basketball front offices versus those where markets genuinely diverge, building a portfolio approach that maximizes shared platform leverage without forcing one sport's mental model onto another. You will own revenue and P&L accountability for the category, partnering with GTM to win league-wide deals and expand into new sports and international markets.
Required qualifications include 8+ years in product management or software development within B2B SaaS, sports technology, vertical AI, or comparable industries. You must have a track record of shipping and iterating across a multi-product portfolio with a clear point of view on where agentic AI experiences win. Deep sports fluency is essential—a genuine understanding of how sports operate, enabling you to credibly speak with GMs, coaches, and personnel directors. You need demonstrated experience leading PMs and product leaders through complex, multi-market environments, including periods of organizational change like acquisitions or rapid growth, or operating as a General Manager of a new business unit with full ownership of strategy, roadmap, GTM, and P&L. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are required to operate credibly at the executive level with customers, league partners, and technical teams.
Ideal candidates will have built and sold product directly to professional sports teams, possess subject matter expertise in football or basketball from coaching, scouting, front office, or analytics backgrounds, have shipped AI-native features with direct experience working with proprietary data sets and models, and have experience integrating recently acquired product portfolios with a bias toward action in ambiguous environments.
