Mantra Health is a digital mental health provider serving over 1.3 million students across 150+ colleges and universities. The company offers a comprehensive suite of services including self-guided wellness courses, peer support, coaching, therapy, psychiatry, 24/7 crisis intervention, and persistence intelligence technologies. Mantra has raised over $34M and is actively growing.
You will lead Mantra's marketing function as Senior Director of Marketing (Head of Marketing), reporting directly to the CEO. You will manage a team of five marketers and own the full marketing operating system across demand generation, brand and content, campus marketing and conferences, and marketing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
**Demand Generation & Performance Marketing:** Build and own a repeatable demand generation engine that drives pipeline. You will manage attribution across Mantra's long, multi-stakeholder B2B sales cycle (which can span many months), establish lead-scoring models and handoff SLAs with Sales, and optimize spend allocation based on channel performance data.
**Conferences & Campus Marketing:** Own the conference and campus marketing portfolio as a core demand generation channel. Partner with the campus marketing lead on execution and with Sales and Partner Success on measuring outcomes and ROI.
**Brand & Content Strategy:** Set the direction for brand positioning, content strategy, and public relations. Elevate the senior content lead as a strategic partner rather than purely an executor.
**Marketing Operations:** Own the marketing technology stack (HubSpot, Salesforce, reporting dashboards) and drive data-informed decision-making across the team.
**Team Leadership:** Directly manage and develop four marketers. Address retention risks, rebuild intake and prioritization systems, and guide the team through a leadership transition.
**Cross-Functional Alignment:** Coordinate with product marketing and lifecycle marketing (under the Product, Design, and Engineering pod) on product launches. Align with Sales leadership on GTM strategy and channel partnerships like EAB.
Mantra's go-to-market is distinctive: you must reach both institutional buyers (VP of Student Affairs, Counseling Center Director, Provost, Procurement) AND the student end-users whose engagement and outcomes drive renewal. This requires setting company-level marketing strategy while staying close enough to funnel data to know what actually works.
You will build the marketing function's operating system at a genuine inflection point, working closely with the CEO and executive team during an active growth-equity raise.
**Requirements:**
- 8+ years in B2B marketing, including 3–5 years directly managing a multi-function marketing team
- Demonstrated fluency in performance marketing and attribution; ability to defend lead-scoring models and recommend spend allocation
- End-to-end experience owning the marketing-to-sales handoff (lead routing, scoring, SLAs) in CRM stacks such as HubSpot and Salesforce
- Experience managing brand, content, and field or campus marketing simultaneously
- Comfort using AI tools (Claude, Gemini, or similar) as part of daily operations
- Demonstrated accountability and ownership; bias toward building durable systems over short-term wins
**Bonus qualifications:**
- Experience navigating attribution in long, multi-touch B2B sales cycles (6+ months)
- Experience marketing to two audiences on the same account (institutional buyers and end-user population whose usage drives renewal)
- Proven success running conferences or field marketing as a primary demand generation channel with cost-per-lead and pipeline accountability
- Experience with public-sector procurement dynamics (RFPs, FOIA, public institution budget cycles)
- Experience managing co-marketing relationships with partners who have independent relationships with the same buyer
- Experience with products featuring multi-year renewal or expansion cycles tied to usage and outcomes data
- Track record of reviving stalled or momentum-lost demand generation programs with specific, measurable changes
