Salary: USD 115,200 - 194,400 / annual
GitLab is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to help technical audiences understand and use its intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps. You will focus on demonstrating GitLab's product in action, particularly the GitLab Duo Agent Platform and AI capabilities, while building relationships with customers and the developer community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deeply understand GitLab's platform and AI agent capabilities, identifying productive real-world use cases worth demonstrating
- Create product content including videos, blog posts, presentations, and social clips showcasing key use cases
- Produce video content end-to-end: scripting, recording, and editing product walkthroughs and demos, collaborating with GitLab's video team on higher-production pieces
- Deliver product demos and participate in analyst briefings
- Engage with customers through webinars, customer meetings, and technical conversations
- Participate actively in the developer community via GitLab forums, Discord, social platforms, newsletters, and events
- Answer technical questions from the sales team and partner with support, sales, and product on developer-facing educational content
- Provide hands-on product feedback to product teams and test new features
- Contribute to technical research and analysis of the developer tools landscape
- Travel up to 20% for events and customer meetings, covering U.S. and Canadian time zones
Requirements:
- Hands-on technical experience understanding how software gets built, with focus on post-code activities (CI/CD, security, deployment); ability to discuss credibly with engineers
- Understanding of artificial intelligence and its use in software development; experience building and operating agentic systems and infrastructure
- Ability to explain technical products clearly through demos, walkthroughs, and conference presentations
- Fluency in developer social platforms and credibility engaging with developer communities
- Curiosity and self-direction; ability to identify emerging topics and opportunities
- Experience engaging with customers, developers, or technical communities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across sales, engineering, product, and other teams
