Xendit is a Southeast Asian payment infrastructure platform processing millions of transactions monthly for SMEs and enterprises. The company is backed by top-tier VCs and recognized as one of Y Combinator's fastest-growing companies.
This role owns two interconnected missions within the Operational Journey cluster (onboarding, dashboard, KYC flows): elevate the merchant lifecycle experience while building and consolidating the design system that keeps it coherent at scale. You will be the senior design owner in this domain, setting quality standards and guiding decisions across areas without dedicated designers.
Key responsibilities include:
**Product Design**: Design the merchant onboarding, activation, and lifecycle flows across multiple surfaces, balancing user clarity with compliance and regulatory requirements. This is complex, high-stakes work where design serves as the instrument of disclosure in a regulated fintech environment.
**Design System Consolidation**: Your first mission is to audit the existing design system, diagnose gaps, consolidate components, establish design tokens and patterns, and document everything so the team can build consistently. You'll move from system-heavy work early toward more product work as the foundation stabilizes.
**Design Leadership & Standards**: You set the quality bar and mentor other designers on the team. You guide design decisions through critique and standards-setting rather than producing every screen, raising the craft across the domain.
**Mentorship**: You develop junior and mid-level designers on the team, building design capability across the organization.
You report to the Product Design & UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and work in a domain that values validated findings, direct critique, and rigor. The role requires balancing strategic system-building with hands-on product design in a fast-growing fintech environment.
