Salary: USD 100,000 - 250,000 / annual
Hercules is seeking a Senior Content Writer to lead research and insights initiatives. You will create customer case studies showcasing the value Hercules delivers, write research-driven blog posts and deep dives analyzing trends across the customer base, and produce detailed reports similar to those published by Carta Data Desk, Openrouter Insights, and Ramp Economics Lab.
Key responsibilities include conducting extensive customer interviews to uncover compelling details for case studies, independently developing interesting research questions and editorial angles, analyzing customer data to spot patterns and present findings through clear visualizations, and optimizing content for search intent and SEO best practices. You will leverage AI tools extensively to accelerate output speed and quality while maintaining editorial rigor and accuracy.
The role requires deep understanding of how different businesses operate and how software impacts their revenue, costs, and workflows. You will turn complex information into clear, compelling narratives that are terse, simple, specific, and useful.
Hercules operates with three core principles: shipping fast and iterating quickly, striving for excellence in every detail, and maintaining hunger to break through obstacles and achieve outcomes. The founding team works in-office in San Francisco (Kearny and Bush) with a strong preference for in-office presence, though remote work is considered for exceptional candidates willing to work US time zones and travel to the office regularly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Exceptional writing ability with portfolio of long-form published work required
- Proven customer interviewing skills with ability to conduct extensive interviews and uncover compelling details
- Strong original research and editorial judgment; ability to independently develop interesting research questions
- Analytical ability and rigor; comfortable working with data, spotting patterns, and presenting findings clearly
- Business and software understanding; quick ability to understand how different businesses operate
- AI-native approach; extensive use of AI to enhance output speed and quality
- SEO knowledge including search intent, internal linking, and best practices
