Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company's Lattice OS is an AI-powered operating system that converts thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center.
The Counter Intrusion team develops force protection systems that monitor perimeters of secure areas (land or sea) for approaching people, vehicles, and vessels. These systems leverage advanced sensor fusion and autonomy to render environmental activity into Lattice's common operating picture, reducing operator burden and enabling customers to accomplish more with fewer personnel.
As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you will own the machine learning stack for the Counter Intrusion team. You will design and train multi-sensor object detection models for perception on edge compute devices, develop learning algorithms to optimize autonomous system behavior, and manage end-to-end ML infrastructure including data collection and training pipelines. Your work will directly impact Anduril's ability to deliver cutting-edge defense technology and identify novel ML applications across the product portfolio.
Key responsibilities include proposing and prototyping innovative solutions using state-of-the-art techniques, developing and maintaining core ML pipelines, training and deploying deep learning models for real-time applications, collaborating cross-functionally with camera, systems, and labeling teams, curating datasets for performance evaluation, and providing technical mentorship to junior ML engineers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, or Computer Science with emphasis on Computer Vision (or BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field)
- 6+ years of experience developing, benchmarking, and optimizing ML algorithms on large-scale datasets
- Strong Deep Learning and Computer Vision background
- Proficiency in C++ development in Linux environment
- Python development experience and proficiency with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
- Experience deploying models with TensorRT and ONNX
- Ability to optimize on-device inference and vision kernels across CPU/GPU/NPU
- Track record of developing and deploying CV models from R&D to production
- Experience writing and maintaining automated continuous integration tests
- Knowledge of system profiling and tuning for latency, memory, and power efficiency
- Ability to conduct experiments, ablation studies, and create detailed reports
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with object detection, object tracking, instance segmentation, semantic segmentation, semantic change detection, depth estimation, model pruning, or compression
- Experience with visual odometry, SLAM, multi-view geometry, camera models, RGB-D and LIDAR sensor fusion, or optical flow
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
- 1+ year in a technical leadership role
