Patreon is seeking a Senior Compensation Manager to lead compensation strategy and execution across the organization. This role sits within the People Team and reports to senior HR leadership, managing a small team while partnering with finance, legal, and talent acquisition to design and maintain competitive, equitable compensation programs.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing Patreon's compensation strategy aligned with business objectives and market trends; conducting thorough market research and benchmarking to ensure competitiveness; designing and enhancing total rewards frameworks covering base salary, variable pay, equity, and benefits; overseeing equity program design and management including stock options and equity pool allocation; managing annual and mid-year compensation review cycles, pay equity analysis, and bonus payouts; ensuring data accuracy and tooling for compensation decisions; providing data-driven insights and dashboards to leadership; collaborating across functions to execute compensation programs; maintaining compliance with labor laws and regulations; developing employee communication strategies around compensation philosophy and changes; and coaching and developing direct reports.
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (master's preferred); 7+ years of progressive compensation experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role; deep knowledge of compensation theories, methodologies, and best practices; hands-on equity program management experience; strong analytical and data skills with proficiency in compensation survey tools; exceptional communication abilities; meticulous attention to detail; demonstrated success building compensation strategies aligned with business goals; knowledge of relevant labor laws; and proficiency in compensation software platforms.
This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, requiring 3 days per week in-office. Patreon is a creator-economy platform with 300,000+ creators, $10B+ generated since inception, and 25M+ paid memberships.
