Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. The company handles payment authorization, risk flagging, spend categorization, and financial close processes for ambitious businesses.
This role focuses on building institutional partnerships with top-tier global strategy consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG) that advise CFOs and CEOs on finance transformation and technology decisions. You will own these relationships end-to-end and develop them into a repeatable go-to-market motion that creates value for the consulting firm, their clients, and Ramp.
This is a build-from-scratch opportunity. Ramp's relationships in this ecosystem are currently early and informal. You will be responsible for the partnership thesis, relationship strategy, and operating motion that transforms a firm into a meaningful Ramp partner over time—a broader remit than a typical partnerships role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as primary relationship owner for a portfolio of top-tier strategy and advisory firms, building credibility with senior firm leadership
- Convert executive introductions into structured partnerships by developing partnership theses, relationship maps, executive sponsor plans, target practices, and client wedges for each firm
- Negotiate and close the first formal agreements between Ramp and these firms
- Build market-facing proof points with Ramp's leadership, marketing, and product teams through executive events, thought leadership, and shared client stories
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across Ramp, engaging Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Product, AI Solutions, and executive sponsors
- Establish and maintain operating cadence including relationship maps, firm plans, account maps, and next steps
The role is based in New York (preferred) or another major metro, with approximately 25% travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of experience at a leading strategy consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or equivalent)
- Exceptional executive presence; ability to hold a room with senior leaders, earn trust quickly, and represent Ramp independently in high-level meetings
- Proven ability to manage multiple work streams and complex stakeholder relationships
- Builder's instinct: energized by ambiguity, comfortable without a playbook, able to bring structure to undefined problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication with judgment to calibrate between executive conversations and working sessions
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% and be based in a major metro
