Brodie League is a fast-growing adult recreational basketball league operating across 30+ locations with 50,000 athletes. As a City Launcher, you will open and operate a new Brodie market in Phoenix, serving as the face of the brand in your city and building a thriving community around competitive, professional-quality basketball. This is fundamentally a community-building role that requires you to leverage an existing deep network in the local basketball ecosystem. You will recruit a minimum of 24 founding captains, identify and negotiate a venue, build local demand through social media and events, and run the launch season. Success depends on your credibility and standing within Phoenix's basketball community—when you recommend something, people move. Core responsibilities include: recruiting captains from your existing network and local gyms/courts where you already participate; building relationships with coaches, trainers, gym staff, run organizers, and other community influencers; identifying and evaluating potential venues, then negotiating and closing the lease; owning the local social media presence and demand generation in the lead-up to launch; hosting open runs and events to convert interest into signed teams; attending game nights throughout the season to build genuine relationships with captains, players, and families; monitoring league health metrics (retention, team count, waitlist, revenue) and tracking performance in CRM; and helping develop the repeatable launch playbook for future Brodie cities. You will report to the Sr. Director of Growth and work closely with operations, brand, and people teams. As your track record grows, you will earn the right to expand into adjacent cities within your territory. This is not a hand-off role—you stay in market, visible weekly, and own the community long-term. Requirements: - You live in the Phoenix neighbourhood (or directly adjacent) where the launch will occur, not just the metro area. - Existing network in the local basketball community: coaches, trainers, gym staff, run organizers, tournament organizers, group-chat admins. - Currently active participant in the game: playing in a rec league now or last season, in a gym weekly. - Established standing/reputation in your scene such that your recommendations carry weight. - Ability to name your first ten captains by name and credibility to get them on the phone. - Comfort building demand from zero (events, social, partnerships, word of mouth) with minimal budget. - Closing ability: can ask a facility owner for a time slot and a captain for a deposit, and manage conversations through to signature. - Comfort owning numbers, working in CRM, and adopting new tools quickly. - Availability for evenings and weekends (game nights run roughly 7pm to midnight). - Willingness to travel across territory as it expands. Nice to have: experience running a run, league, tournament, training group, or community program; experience with local brand/venue/team social media; background in sports, events, hospitality, fitness, lifestyle, or entertainment; experience selling partnerships, sponsorships, or experiential products; 3+ years in sales, partnerships, community management, or growth (though network and credibility are prioritized over title history).
