Pyka is building autonomous electric aircraft for cargo transport and crop protection applications. The company designs, develops, and manufactures an integrated ecosystem of technologies including flight control software, avionics, high-power-density motors, motor controllers, batteries, and custom carbon-fiber composite airframes. As Senior Buyer/Planner, you will play a critical role in supply chain strategy and procurement operations. This role bridges purchasing, demand planning, and supplier relationship management to ensure reliable, cost-effective sourcing of components and materials for Pyka's autonomous aircraft platforms. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and program management teams to forecast demand, optimize inventory, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage supply chain risks.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with production schedules and business growth; managing supplier relationships and performance; analyzing spend and identifying cost-reduction opportunities; coordinating with engineering on component specifications and lead times; forecasting material requirements based on production plans; and ensuring supply chain resilience for a hardware-intensive aerospace business. You will leverage data analytics to optimize procurement decisions and work with multiple stakeholders to balance cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role at a growth-stage aerospace company with real products in market and significant scaling ahead. You will have direct impact on manufacturing efficiency, unit economics, and the company's ability to scale production to meet customer demand.
