Zocdoc is a healthcare marketplace that empowers patients to find and book in-person or virtual care across all 50 states, 200+ specialties, and 12,000+ insurance plans. As Senior Benefits Associate, you will own the day-to-day operations of Zocdoc's employee benefits programs with a focus on operational excellence and genuine care for employee experience.
Your responsibilities include administering comprehensive benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, FSAs, HSAs, COBRA, retirement, commuter, and voluntary benefits). You'll serve as the primary point of contact for employees navigating benefits questions, qualifying life events, new hire enrollments, terminations, and dependent verification, delivering a high-touch experience throughout.
You will administer leave of absence programs in partnership with Zocdoc's leave administrator, covering FMLA, ADA, state leave programs, paid family leave, workers' compensation, and short-term disability. Regular audits of benefit eligibility, payroll deductions, vendor files, invoices, and system integrations will ensure data integrity and financial accuracy. You'll reconcile monthly benefit invoices and partner with Payroll and Finance to resolve discrepancies quickly.
Additional responsibilities include supporting annual Open Enrollment from system configuration through employee education and post-enrollment auditing, maintaining compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, and Medicare reporting requirements. You'll develop and maintain employee-facing documentation and benefit guides, and identify opportunities to automate processes and leverage AI tools to improve reporting and employee experience.
This role requires 4–6 years of progressive benefits administration experience, ideally in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. You should have experience administering Leave of Absence programs and the ability to integrate generative AI tools into daily workflows. You're detail-oriented, autonomous, and genuinely motivated by building programs that support people. You build strong partnerships across Payroll, Finance, and external vendors, and view benefits administration as an act of care, not just compliance.
