Salary: USD 124,800 - 183,400 / annual
GOAT Group, a leading fashion marketplace, is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to solve complex technical problems and help shape the company's technical vision. You'll work within cross-functional squads alongside product managers, designers, and other engineers to build features and improvements that power the marketplace.
Key responsibilities include extending API and backend systems, working with PostgreSQL clusters, improving testing environments, and solving challenges across architecture, security, anti-fraud, performance, scalability, personalization, optimization, and payments. You'll mentor and sponsor other engineers in your areas of expertise, contribute to code reviews, participate in on-call rotations, and coordinate seamlessly across technical and product teams. The role also involves leveraging LLMs where appropriate to improve the product and development workflows.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of engineering experience with a track record of building, maintaining, or architecting production web applications. You should have strong knowledge of API design, database design, and experience simplifying complex services. Understanding of operational concerns like deployment, migrations, configuration, and provisioning is essential. Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, Sorbet, PostgreSQL, and AWS is required.
