Vinted is Europe's leading second-hand marketplace, connecting millions of members across 20+ markets to buy and sell pre-loved fashion and lifestyle items. The company operates three business units: Vinted Marketplace (the core platform), Vinted Go (shipping logistics network), and Vinted Pay (payments infrastructure). Founded in 2008 in Lithuania and now a unicorn with 2,000+ employees across European offices, Vinted is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer II to join the Engineering Experience domain within the Platform unit.
Engineering Experience builds the tools, platforms, and golden paths that enable Vinted's entire engineering organization—from initial code commit through safe production deployment. The domain comprises several specialized teams: CI/CD (code repository, continuous integration, build artifacts, secrets, ArgoCD deployment); Development Environments & AI (cloud development environments like Spinup, AI-assisted engineering tooling); DevPortal (internal developer portal, service catalog, self-service workflows); and Quality Engineering (test infrastructure, QA processes, quality metrics).
You'll join either the Development Environments & AI or CI/CD team, reporting to an Engineering Manager and collaborating across the Engineering Experience domain. Your responsibilities include exploring and adopting AI-assisted approaches to improve development efficiency and quality; designing, building, and owning tools, services, and frameworks used by hundreds of engineers; making Vinted's codebase AI-agent-ready through proper context, conventions, and scaffolding; building tooling and processes for complex challenges like PR review load and AI-assisted merge pipelines; and improving environments and pipelines so engineers and agents can validate changes rapidly.
You bring substantial experience designing, building, and operating backend systems, platforms, or developer tools at scale. You actively use AI to boost your own work and mentor others in doing the same. You have proven success shipping tools and platforms that other engineers depend on, write clean and testable code, and understand how to structure codebases for AI collaboration. You grasp the practical limits and risks of LLM-based tools and design defensively. You exhibit strong technical thought leadership, influence direction, mentor peers, and drive adoption of best practices. You're passionate about developer productivity and engineering experience, with excellent English communication.
Desirable experience includes hands-on work with Go, Kubernetes, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, and platform-oriented teams.
