LiveRamp is a data collaboration platform serving hundreds of global innovators including consumer brands, tech giants, banks, retailers, and healthcare leaders. The company specializes in consumer privacy, data ethics, and foundational identity solutions, enabling organizations to build connected customer views while maintaining compliance and trust. The Pixel Serving team, part of LiveRamp's Identity Engineering organization, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to building and scaling next-generation, AI-forward advertising technology. This role focuses on real-time data workflows operating at single-digit milliseconds to under 150ms latency, serving as LiveRamp's gateway for all real-time data processing. You will own several distributed real-time APIs and applications written in Go that service external partners, develop robust cross-team data flows using modern streaming platforms like Redpanda, and continuously improve the reliability, performance, and maintainability of core production systems. The team builds and owns the entire stack, providing full visibility into business problems and following Scrum methodology. Required qualifications include 5+ years of professional experience deploying high-performance production code and 2+ years of relevant experience building and launching MVPs through scaling to high volumes while managing complex, high-reliability distributed systems. You should have a strong track record designing and building maintainable, large-scale systems, comfort navigating complex and unclear problem spaces, and the ability to translate business challenges into effective technical solutions. A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related discipline) is required. Bonus qualifications include experience with 0-to-1 product launch initiatives, scaling 1-to-N distributed systems, designing interfaces and infrastructure for high-volume services and APIs, and familiarity with the AdTech ecosystem. Primary tech stack: Golang (main), Java and Python (partial). Core technologies include Kubernetes, Redpanda, SingleStore, and Terraform. Deep usage of Google Cloud Platform services including BigTable, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, DataProc, and Data Transfer solutions. The role offers flexible work arrangements across San Francisco and New York offices, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching (1:1 up to 6% of salary), flexible PTO, paid parental leave, and a collaborative culture with regular in-person and virtual team events.
