Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that owns and operates the full stack—from power generation to cloud services—to power AI workloads. The company sources power, manufactures modular data centers, builds hyperscale campuses, and operates its own cloud platform, positioning it across four fast-moving markets: AI compute, power, data center construction, and manufacturing. The Strategy team sits in the Office of the President and Chief Strategy Officer. This role is responsible for building the intelligence function that helps Crusoe anticipate market shifts and make better strategic decisions. You will develop a differentiated view of markets, competitors, and technologies shaping Crusoe's business, then translate that information into clear implications and recommendations for leadership. Key responsibilities include: **Market and Competitive Intelligence:** Build and maintain a differentiated view of markets critical to Crusoe, including AI compute and cloud, hyperscalers, semiconductors and accelerators, power and energy, data center infrastructure, and manufacturing. Develop competitive intelligence on key companies and ecosystems—strategy, customers, partnerships, capacity, economics, technology, and geographic expansion. Build structured market maps and datasets that show how companies, customers, technologies, and value chains connect. Identify developments that could materially affect Crusoe and distinguish meaningful signals from industry noise. Maintain rigorous sourcing and update standards. **Original Insight and Strategic Analysis:** Turn fragmented information into clear, actionable insights. Identify what is changing, why it matters, and what Crusoe should consider doing differently. Work cross-functionally to translate business pain points into strategic questions, size opportunities, compare alternatives, and test assumptions using quantitative and qualitative analysis. Synthesize external research with insights from customers, partners, experts, and internal teams. Write concise position papers and strategic briefs. Own recurring intelligence products for leadership. Act as a research and thought partner on live strategic questions including market entry, product expansion, partnerships, M&A screens, and competitive responses. Build relationships across Crusoe to tap into collective expertise. **AI-Powered Intelligence Infrastructure:** Turn recurring research and intelligence needs into repeatable workflows using AI research tools, agents, APIs, data sources, and light scripting. Build systems that monitor markets and companies at scale. Design AI workflows with trust and verification in mind, maintaining traceability to primary sources and testing outputs for accuracy. Build tools that augment judgment rather than replace it. Document and share workflows for reuse across the Strategy team. Success is measured by whether the work helps Crusoe make better decisions, identify important changes earlier, and solve meaningful business problems—not by volume of research produced. **Requirements:** - 2 to 5 years in strategy consulting, investment or equity research, corporate strategy, market research, or similarly analytical environment (strong body of independent work can substitute) - Hands-on AI fluency: daily use of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools for real research and analysis; ability to demonstrate workflows built and understand their limitations - Experience turning a recurring information need into a dataset and repeatable process (agent, scraper, pipeline, monitoring setup, or model with real refresh process) - Strong market and commercial judgment; ability to reason about customers, competitors, value chains, business models, and unit economics; ability to get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar markets - Analytical rigor: evaluate source quality, build estimates and scenarios, check math, distinguish facts from assumptions, defend reasoning - Strong communication skills: write conclusion-first, explain complex topics simply without losing important nuance - Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and determine what is most important without waiting for fully defined briefs **Bonus qualifications:** - Domain exposure: AI compute and cloud, semiconductors, data centers, advanced manufacturing, power and energy markets - Experience building a competitive intelligence or market intelligence function - Python, SQL, AI coding tools, or experience with data APIs - Primary research or expert network experience - Experience evaluating startups, vendors, partnerships, or acquisition opportunities
