MITO is a 230-person digital transformation and design consultancy seeking an experienced business consultant to lead its Customer Experience (CX) Strategy & Business Transformation practice. You will bring structured consulting rigor to the customer experience space, diagnosing complex business problems, building compelling business cases, and guiding C-level clients toward high-impact decisions. Your work will blend classic management consulting with service design and design thinking methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Consulting: Deconstruct complex client challenges using hypothesis-driven, structured thinking (MECE, issue trees) and deliver sharp, decision-ready recommendations for C-suite stakeholders.
• Business Design & Transformation: Design operating models, processes, and organizational capabilities that enable clients to implement solutions effectively; identify capability gaps and support their development.
• Business Value & Impact: Build ROI models and business cases that quantify and prioritize the value of experience investments; champion these models with decision-makers.
• Practice Ownership: Define and evolve the practice's service portfolio, value proposition, and quality standards in partnership with the CX Director and Experience Design & Delivery Practice Lead.
• Methods, IP & AI: Develop scalable frameworks, toolkits, and reusable intellectual property; integrate AI-augmented ways of working into the practice; help clients assess and grow their AI maturity.
• Research & Insight: Lead customer and business insight initiatives; support solution insight work; build strategic partnerships with research providers (panel, field, data, specialist).
• Business Development: Play an active pre-sales role through presentations, discovery calls, pitches, and RFP/RFI leadership; grow the pipeline with Growth and Client Services leads; manage practice utilization, productivity, and budget.
• Team Leadership: Hire, lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Consultants; set goals, provide feedback, build career paths, and ensure the team has resources to excel.
The role is hybrid, based in downtown Budapest with flexibility to work from home or abroad (with stable internet). MITO offers a modern office environment, flexible benefits, extra paid days off for loyalty, continuous learning opportunities, wellness programs (yoga, health screenings), and a collaborative, dog-friendly culture.
Requirements:
• 6–8 years of experience in management/strategy consulting and/or innovation management, with at least 3 years of team leadership (ideally in strategy consulting or agency).
• Mastery of classic consulting toolkit: MECE, issue trees, hypothesis-driven problem solving; ability to deliver short, sharp, decision-ready recommendations.
• Strong quantitative and financial skills: ROI modeling, business cases, P&L analysis, and forecasting are core competencies.
• Experience across multiple industries; breadth valued over deep vertical specialization.
• Confidence and presence with C-level clients; ability to serve as a trusted advisor.
• Genuine affinity for service design and design thinking; ability to frame problems from the customer perspective.
• Excellent communication, pitching, and storytelling skills with strong visual narratives.
• Practical AI fluency: daily use of AI tools and ability to critically evaluate outputs.
• Skilled at facilitating client workshops and managing conflict diplomatically.
• Fluent Hungarian and business-level English (spoken and written); comfortable conducting negotiations and client presentations in either language.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience applying service design or design thinking on real projects.
• Client-side (in-house) experience in business, marketing, or CX strategy roles.
• Business analyst background or P&L ownership experience.
• Hands-on experience in design research or market research.
