Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Associate, Regional Treasury to join its MENA Treasury team in Dubai. This role is responsible for safeguarding and operational resilience of merchant funds across the MENA region, combining expertise in safeguarding, cash management, settlement execution, liquidity management, and capital management. Key responsibilities include owning daily safeguarding oversight processes for merchant funds, including calculations, reconciliations, and balance transfers in line with approved policies and controls. You will monitor and investigate safeguarding exceptions, control failures, and breaches, driving remediation actions to completion. The role requires analyzing end-to-end payment and fund-flow models to identify safeguarding and regulatory impacts, and designing management information systems that provide clear analysis and timely escalation to senior management. You will develop and maintain regional Treasury policies, procedures, operating controls, and process maps. The position involves supporting internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and information requests by preparing evidence and responding to queries. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll partner with internal stakeholders on new product launches, market expansion, and regulatory initiatives to assess fund-flow design and safeguarding treatment. Additional responsibilities include contributing to Treasury governance through preparation of papers and reporting for the regional Asset Liability Committee, applying generalist Treasury knowledge to support cash management and liquidity decisions, and executing Treasury payments including merchant settlements and safeguarding transfers. You will provide regional coverage as needed. Required qualifications include minimum 5 years of Treasury or related financial-services experience with direct safeguarding exposure in a regulated financial institution, Electronic Money Institution, Payment Service Provider, or bank. Working knowledge of safeguarding principles, segregation, reconciliation, fund-flow controls, and operational risk management is essential. Experience with UAE payments regulation, particularly the CBUAE framework, is preferred. You must have practical experience executing high-volume payments and settlements, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into scalable operating processes.
