Celonis is seeking a Senior Applied Value Engineer to work with strategic global customers, solving mission-critical business problems using the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform combined with cutting-edge AI technologies from partners like Microsoft and OpenAI.
In this role, you will act as a strategic technical pioneer, working directly with C-suite executives and operational leaders at Celonis' most important accounts. Your primary responsibilities include:
**Discovery & AI Solutioning**: Lead technical discovery engagements to understand customer strategy and operational challenges. Translate complex requirements into enterprise architecture and prototype state-of-the-art AI solutions targeting specific pain points. Serve as the foremost Celonis product and domain positioning expert.
**AI Solution Development**: Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes Proof-of-Value (PoV) projects. Architect and deliver secure, scalable LLM/agent systems with advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), tools, and guardrails. Ensure seamless integration with enterprise data, identity, and compliance frameworks.
**Value Selling & Realization**: Act as a trusted advisor to strategic accounts, maintaining active involvement to ensure programmatic value realization, adoption, and operational transformation until agreed-upon outcomes are achieved.
**Domain & Industry Specialization**: Leverage deep domain expertise to architect end-to-end, industry-specific solutions (e.g., supply chain, finance). Codify methodologies into reusable, globally scalable assets. Mentor junior team members.
You will work in a hybrid model from the Munich office, collaborating with a global team while maintaining close customer relationships. The role requires native-level German proficiency to lead customer workshops, conduct executive presentations, and manage stakeholder interactions in German.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of executive-facing presales and value engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to independently own technical closes and drive AI transformation narratives
- Proven track record in accountable PoV execution, complex ROI/TCO modeling, and pitching visionary solutions to hidden problems
- Comprehensive domain and industry expertise (e.g., supply chain, finance operations) with ability to speak C-suite language and connect systemic bottlenecks to strategic AI solutions
- Software/data engineering proficiency: Python, modular API design, reusable libraries, advanced SQL, and scalable data integration using ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Hugging Face)
- Strong presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders, including executives (whiteboarding, formal readouts, demos)
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Native-level or near-native German language skills (written and spoken) with confidence engaging German-speaking customers, facilitating workshops, and presenting to executives
