Scopely, the #1 mobile games company in the U.S. and home to MONOPOLY GO! (the biggest mobile game launch in history), is seeking a Senior Animator with VFX expertise to join the Barcelona team on a hybrid basis.
In this role, you will create high-quality animations for props, UI elements, gameplay assets, and environments. You'll develop and tune real-time VFX using particle emitters, integrate your work into Unity using established workflows, and collaborate closely with designers, artists, and engineers to bring visual concepts to life. You'll iterate based on feedback, experiment with AI-assisted creative tools to accelerate production, and support technical art tasks including asset setup and troubleshooting. You'll also help maintain animation and VFX documentation and workflows.
You bring 5+ years of professional experience in game animation, VFX, or related disciplines. You have strong animation skills, particularly for props, UI, and gameplay content, and proven experience creating real-time VFX including particle systems, materials, and shaders. You're proficient in Unity and experienced with industry-standard tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Houdini, After Effects, or Photoshop. You have practical experience experimenting with AI-assisted creative tools and curiosity about how AI can enhance animation and VFX workflows. You demonstrate excellent timing, readability, and visual polish sensibilities, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently on creative and technical challenges. You communicate effectively, collaborate well in multidisciplinary teams, and have strong written and spoken English.
