Wonderful is hiring a Conversation Experience Designer to shape how users interact with AI agents. This role bridges linguistics, communication design, and applied persuasion techniques to create dialogue experiences that feel clear, credible, and engaging.
You will design end-to-end conversation journeys, from onboarding through error recovery and escalation, with deep attention to user cognitive and emotional experience. You'll apply linguistic and rapport-building techniques—framing, pacing-and-leading, presupposition, mirroring, and objection defusing—to reduce hesitation and increase user follow-through.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing dialogue flows and edge-case handling from the user's perspective, identifying points of confusion, anxiety, or drop-off
- Applying NLP-informed rapport patterns to build trust and guide users toward action
- Drafting and refining system instructions, guardrails, and context guidelines to shape agent behavior and maintain brand voice
- Prototyping and testing agent responses across user personas and scenarios
- Analyzing real transcripts to identify tone mismatches, unclear phrasing, and comprehension failures
You should have experience in UX writing, conversation design, conversational UX, or prompt design for LLM applications. Practical familiarity with NLP frameworks (rapport techniques, framing, presupposition, pacing-and-leading) is essential. You'll need a strong understanding of how large language models work—context windows, system prompts, tool-calling logic—and the ability to translate complex business rules into natural, concise conversational experiences. A portfolio demonstrating conversation flows, prompt strategies, or interactive agent prototypes is required.
