Scopely, a leading mobile games company behind MONOPOLY GO! and Pokémon GO, is seeking a Senior Animator to join the MONOPOLY GO! team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis.
In this role, you will create animatics, transitions, 3D animations, VFX, UI animations, and character animations that define the player experience in one of the world's most successful mobile games. You will collaborate closely with Animation Directors, Art Directors, Tech Artists, UI/UX designers, and Engineers to establish and maintain industry-leading animation quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and directing animation quality standards alongside leadership, using storytelling through in-game animations
- Providing technical support and workflow optimization for animation production and implementation
- Collaborating with engineers and technical artists to define, maintain, and improve animation tools and pipeline
- Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on animations from internal teams and external partners
- Participating actively in art critiques, team discussions, and reviews
- Coordinating with production to ensure timely delivery of animation assets
- Working cross-functionally with narrative, design, and art teams
You bring 5+ years of professional game animation experience with expert hand-key animation skills and deep knowledge of animation fundamentals. You have technical implementation experience with animations in UI and feature development using Unity. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential. You maintain an online portfolio demonstrating both animation art and technical art capabilities.
Preferred qualifications include experience with game feature development, player experience design, story creation, and previz tools (After Effects, Photoshop, Animate). Additional skills in drawing, texturing, modeling, and mobile games experience are valued. Familiarity with AI-supported creative tools is a plus.
