Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. We're seeking a Senior Analyst for our Platform Underwriting team in Atlanta to evaluate and approve applications from Payment Facilitators, Marketplaces, and Digital Wallet Operators.
In this role, you'll conduct comprehensive business model analysis and risk assessments for high-value platform customers. You'll perform expert-level financial statement analysis (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and customer due diligence including KYC, KYB, PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening. You'll prepare persuasive risk summaries for internal stakeholders and risk committees, making balanced recommendations on deal approvals within your authority.
You'll represent the underwriting team in customer calls alongside Sales and Account Managers, identify operational improvements to the merchant onboarding experience, and mentor junior team members. This is a collaborative role requiring close partnership with Commercial, Compliance, Risk, Legal teams, and Senior Management.
You bring 6+ years of financial analysis or merchant underwriting experience, plus 5+ years in due diligence, merchant underwriting, or equivalent work. Subject matter expertise in AML/CTF, credit insurance, or commercial lending is essential. Payments or fintech domain expertise is preferred. You demonstrate sound judgment balancing risk and reward, excellent written and interpersonal communication, and a passion for operational excellence. Prior coaching or mentoring experience is desirable.
