Monday.com is building Marko, an agentic marketing platform that transforms marketing into an engineering challenge. The platform orchestrates specialized AI sub-agents to autonomously run campaigns, generate creative, allocate budgets, and optimize performance across major ad channels (Google Ads, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit) at scale—managing hundreds of millions in annual ad spend. As a founding engineer, you will own and build sub-agents end-to-end, from architecture through production deployment. You'll design and implement agent infrastructure including enforced pipelines, skill hot-reload capabilities, approval gates with magnitude-based thresholds, and feedback loops for continuous improvement. Your work will integrate deeply with marketing platforms, building reliable connectors and handling edge cases at scale. You'll also architect the orchestration layer enabling Marko to route tasks to sub-agents, coordinate multi-step workflows across channels, and resolve conflicts. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and marketing strategy—you'll work directly with marketing leadership to understand campaign economics, attribution models, and success metrics. Monday.com has already run AI agents in production for over a year using frameworks like OpenClaw and Hermes, proving the concept works. Now the company is building the full platform. This is a 0→1 founding role with significant autonomy and real-world stakes: the agents manage actual campaigns and budgets, not research projects. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend and systems fundamentals - Hands-on production experience building with LLMs: shipped agent-based systems, LLM-powered workflows, or AI-native products handling real-world complexity - Deep understanding of AI agent architecture: orchestration, state management, context design, tool calling, human-in-the-loop patterns - Experience designing and building evaluation/feedback systems for agents managing real budgets - Proven systems thinking: ability to design architectures where 15+ agents coordinate smoothly - Strong API integration skills for complex third-party APIs with reliable, auditable integrations - Builder mentality: ship, then iterate STRONG ADVANTAGES: - Experience with agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar) - Experience with digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube) including campaign structures, bidding, and attribution - Knowledge of RAG architectures, vector embeddings, or information retrieval systems - Background in data pipelines, ETL, or marketing analytics - Experience with agentic AI in production (autonomous loops, self-evaluation, feedback-driven improvement) - Strong Python and/or TypeScript skills
