Outmarket.AI is hiring its first Senior Accounting Manager / Controller to build the financial infrastructure for an AI-powered platform serving commercial insurance agencies. This is a foundational role reporting to the Head of Finance & Strategy, responsible for establishing accounting systems, controls, and reporting processes as the company scales from seed stage toward category leadership.
You will own the complete accounting function, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes with GAAP-compliant, board- and investor-ready financials. Key responsibilities include managing revenue recognition for subscription and usage-based models, maintaining a scalable general ledger, running AP/AR end-to-end (invoicing, collections, expense management), and managing tax compliance and external audit relationships. You will build and enforce internal controls to prepare the company for future financing rounds and first external audit.
A critical part of this role is defining and implementing an AI-native finance tool stack—evaluating systems, identifying automation opportunities, and integrating intelligent workflows into the accounting function. As the team grows, you will hire, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred) with 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience in high-growth SaaS environments. You must have strong command of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, deferred revenue accounting for subscription businesses, month-end close procedures, and audit preparation. Experience with financial modeling, workflow automation, and large datasets is essential. Bonus qualifications include InsurTech experience, Big 4 accounting background, venture-backed startup accounting, and process automation / reporting dashboard expertise.
