As Senior Accounting Manager, you will be the first internal accounting hire, taking full ownership of establishing the accounting function in-house after transitioning from an external accounting agency. You'll have complete autonomy over systems, processes, and controls, deciding how the books are closed, how reporting is structured, and which tools power the operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own daily, monthly, and annual financial close processes: general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Design, implement, and scale financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets
- Prepare accurate, timely monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for management review
- Manage local, state, and federal tax filings, regulatory compliance, and support external audits
- Evaluate, select, and implement modern financial tech stacks and automation tools (ERPs, expense management, billing software)
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and department heads to support initiatives and data needs
Required qualifications: 5+ years progressive accounting experience with 1–2 years in high-growth startup or fast-paced tech environment; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, modern startup ERP systems, Stripe, Ramp, and Excel. CPA active license strongly preferred. Bonus experience includes venture-backed or PE-backed companies and marketplace-based companies.
