Twilio is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team on a remote basis. This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on carrier cost of goods sold (COGS) accounting and financial process optimization.
You will partner closely with the Carrier Operations team to ensure accuracy of Twilio's carrier COGS through contract analysis, accruals management, and variance investigation. Key responsibilities include:
• Acting as the dedicated accounting partner to Carrier Operations, streamlining information flow and data integrity between systems
• Reviewing, analyzing, and documenting financial implications of complex carrier agreements, tracking security deposits, minimum commitments, and volume-based pricing tiers
• Supporting month-end close activities including accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and P&L/Balance Sheet analysis
• Conducting deep-dive variance and anomaly detection on carrier cost accounts, identifying billing anomalies and investigating margins at the route/carrier level
• Ensuring SOX compliance, maintaining accounting policy documentation, and serving as point of contact for external auditors
• Identifying process inefficiencies and building systematic solutions using automation tools
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or quantitative field; 3+ years progressive accounting experience ideally combining Big 4/National public accounting with technology, telecommunications, or CPaaS environments; solid US GAAP and month-end close knowledge; advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; hands-on experience with automation tools (Alteryx, UiPath, Gemini, NotebookLM); strong communication skills in English.
Desired: CPA, Chartered Accountant, or local equivalent certification.
