Sauce is a restaurant technology platform offering commission-free delivery and pickup solutions to the US restaurant industry. The company is headquartered in NYC and Tel-Aviv and is seeking a Senior Accountant to own accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable, procure-to-pay, vendor and contractor payments, bank and credit card reconciliations, accruals, and P&L analysis support.
In this high-ownership role reporting directly to the Controller, you will manage end-to-end AP operations including vendor onboarding, bill creation, payment preparation, and ledger maintenance. You'll review and process contractor invoices, maintain contractor payment schedules, and coordinate with business owners to ensure approvals and supporting documentation are in place before payment. You'll own the AP aging report and proactively resolve outstanding items and vendor queries.
Monthly close responsibilities include posting and reviewing accruals (vendor, payroll, prepaid, and recurring items), recording payroll entries, posting fixed asset and prepaid amortization entries, importing and reconciling credit card transactions, managing expense reports, and posting monthly revenue entries in coordination with the Controller.
Bank and balance sheet reconciliation duties encompass daily bank reconciliations across all accounts and entities, reconciling corporate credit cards, managing high-volume transaction reconciliations across multiple payment platforms (Stripe, Melio, bank accounts), maintaining audit-ready workpapers, reconciling all balance sheet accounts, and handling intercompany reconciliations across US and international entities.
You'll support preparation of monthly financial statements, prepare variance analysis for internal stakeholders, flag anomalies and cost trends proactively, maintain finance file structure and audit-ready documentation, identify and implement process improvements in P2P and close workflows, and maintain system integrations (QuickBooks Online, Melio, Deel, Remote.com, Saasgrid).
Required qualifications include 5–7 years of accounting experience with clear ownership of P2P or AP functions, strong US GAAP knowledge, proficiency in QuickBooks Online and G Suite, hands-on proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to design and execute workflows, experience with intercompany accounting across US and international entities, demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis, and comfort working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience automating accounting workflows with AI tools or custom scripts, CPA or equivalent qualification, experience in a SaaS or tech startup environment, familiarity with Melio, Deel, Remote.com, or Saasgrid, and exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations. The role requires time zone overlap with Eastern European Time (EET) and US (EST).
