Picogrid is a venture-backed defense technology company building infrastructure to unify sensors, autonomy, and operators for national security applications. The company seeks a Senior Accountant to help build and scale the accounting function during a period of rapid growth.
In this role, you will own key areas of the monthly close and financial reporting, working toward a consistent 5-business-day close cycle. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules; reviewing operating expenses for proper classification; supporting revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting; performing flux and variance analysis; and executing bank reconciliations. You'll also help improve and automate procure-to-pay and expense processes.
You will prepare audit-ready financial statement schedules and workpapers, support the annual financial statement audit, help implement accounting policies, and build processes that strengthen accuracy and scalability. A key focus is identifying opportunities to automate repetitive accounting processes, improve integrations across the finance stack, and leverage AI and automation tools while maintaining strong financial controls.
You'll partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other teams on accounting and systems initiatives, taking on increasingly complex responsibilities as the organization grows.
Required: 2+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience; strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; ability to independently investigate discrepancies; strong attention to detail; comfort in a dynamic environment where processes are still being built; systems aptitude and ability to learn new finance tools quickly; process-improvement mindset; and clear communication skills.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward certification; Big 4 or public accounting experience; high-growth startup experience; interest in AI-enabled finance workflows.
