Salary: USD 115,000 - 125,000 / annual
Pacific Fusion, founded in 2023, is developing pulser-driven inertial fusion systems to achieve net facility gain and deliver abundant, affordable, clean energy. The company has raised over $900M and is rapidly scaling its engineering and operations teams.
As Senior Accountant, you will own a portion of Pacific Fusion's accounting operations, working alongside a team of accountants to support the organization's growth phase. Your responsibilities include:
• Lead and execute monthly close processes, producing accurate monthly financial statements
• Complete journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis for assigned accounts
• Produce quarterly plan-to-actuals analysis and variance reporting
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support leadership initiatives and strategic decisions
• Perform technical accounting research and document management positions via memos
• Drive efficiency improvements across financial operations and processes
• Support annual external audits and compliance activities
• Contribute to the implementation of a new ERP system
You bring at least four years of public accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise owning end-to-end month-end close processes for hardware companies. You excel at building and optimizing operational processes, creating comprehensive workpapers for leadership consumption, and translating complex financial details into actionable insights.
Bonus experience includes: SOX compliance in public companies, startup environments, finance software implementation, aerospace/energy/manufacturing/fusion industries, collaboration with PhD scientists and R&D organizations, and government contract accounting.
