You will join the Accounting department in Belgrade, Serbia, one of HYCU's key global business strategic hubs in Europe. As a Senior Accountant, you will play an important role supporting a dynamic, global business while working closely with global stakeholders and contributing to the financial operations of a fast-scaling SaaS company.
Key responsibilities include:
**Vendor Management:** Oversee end-to-end vendor management including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management. Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contractual terms. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve vendor issues and discrepancies.
**Treasury Operations:** Manage daily cash flow activities including monitoring bank account balances, initiating wire transfers, and forecasting cash needs. Execute cash management strategies to optimize liquidity and maximize returns on idle cash. Maintain relationships with banking partners and ensure compliance with banking regulations.
**Travel Expense Management:** Develop and enforce travel expense policies and procedures in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements. Review and approve employee expense reports for policy adherence and documentation accuracy. Provide guidance and support to employees on expense reporting tools and reimbursement processes.
**General Ledger Maintenance:** Oversee the general ledger, investigate and resolve reconciling items, and ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data. Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Prepare and post journal entries, adjustments, and accruals as necessary.
**Oversight of Outsourced Accounting Work:** Coordinate with external accounting firms or service providers for outsourced accounting tasks. Review and approve accounting work prepared by outsourced firms for compliance with GAAP and company policies. Provide feedback and guidance to outsourced teams.
**Compliance and Audit Support:** Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and assistance. Stay current on accounting pronouncements and industry best practices.

**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required)
- 4+ years of general accounting experience (required)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with ability to interpret accounting and financial data
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Professional fluency in English (written and verbal communication)
- Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy and integrity
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
