As a Financial Accountant (Finanzbuchhalterin m/w/d), you will be the backbone of financial reporting, taking full responsibility for the trial balance, complex reconciliations, and the monthly close cycle. You will be a practice-oriented expert who ensures the integrity of financial data, maintains a clean balance sheet, and guarantees compliance with all relevant accounting standards. Working with minimal supervision, you will drive continuous improvement of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee closing processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, ensuring all deadlines are met and closings are accurate
- Create and post complex, material general ledger entries, including accruals, deferred revenue, prepayments, and intercompany transactions
- Perform and verify critical balance sheet reconciliations, independently investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Manage intercompany accounting, including transfer pricing adjustments, loan agreements, and multi-currency reconciliations
- Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and regulatory reporting under local (HGB) and IFRS standards
- Continuously assess and optimize general ledger processes, chart of accounts, and financial systems to increase efficiency and automate manual tasks
- Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial policies across the organization

Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with 5–7 years of professional experience post-qualification
- Proven success in complex, multi-entity general ledger environments
- Exceptionally well-organized, practice-oriented expert capable of managing the entire closing process independently with minimal supervision
- Deep and comprehensive understanding of accounting principles (HGB and IFRS) and statutory reporting obligations
- Extensive experience with enterprise-wide ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Workday) and advanced Excel financial modeling
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the balance sheet is always fully documented, reconciled, and error-free
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to prioritize tasks under pressure during tight closing cycles
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with ERP migrations, system upgrades, or implementation of specialized modules (e.g., fixed asset management, inventory tracking, automated reconciliation tools)
- Familiarity with RPA tools (Robotic Process Automation) or basic scripting languages (VBA, Python) for automating repetitive month-end tasks
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments with knowledge of foreign exchange accounting and intercompany transactions
- Demonstrated success identifying inefficiencies in financial processes and implementing process improvement initiatives (e.g., shortening the monthly close cycle)
