As a Senior Accountant, you'll be a key member of a small, high-performing accounting and finance team that supports senior management and department leaders with financial insights to drive decision-making. This role bridges daily accounting operations with broader scaling initiatives, combining hands-on accounting work with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and core accounting tasks supporting financial close and reporting
- Research, establish, and maintain financial accounting principles and procedures in compliance with US GAAP
- Support internal controls, audit readiness, compliance administration, and audit coordination
- Design and document accounting processes, identifying automation and improvement opportunities as the company scales
- Own accounting projects and process gaps outside standard workflows, from investigation through resolution
- Partner cross-functionally to design and implement new systems, processes, and solutions impacting accounting, finance, treasury, data, and other teams
You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience (fintech/payments experience is a plus). Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of financial audit or consulting experience. Required skills: working knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting, advanced Excel with ability to handle large complex datasets (SQL/Python a plus), quick adoption of new systems and tools, and experience with Sage Intacct, FloQast, Looker, or similar platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for translating technical concepts to cross-functional and external audiences.
