NetBox Labs is seeking a Senior Accountant to own core accounting operations with a focus on automation and efficiency. This hands-on role reports to the Controller and is responsible for month-end close, accounts payable, expense management, reconciliations, and audit readiness.
Key responsibilities include: owning the complete month-end close cycle (journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, supporting schedules); managing accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and corporate card programs with accurate coding and timely accruals; maintaining balance sheet reconciliations with clear documentation; identifying manual processes and designing AI-powered workflows to improve accuracy and scalability; evaluating and implementing emerging finance automation tools; working cross-functionally with Engineering to eliminate manual processes; supporting budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc reporting; and ensuring audit readiness through schedule preparation, documentation, and compliance coordination.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in dynamic startup SaaS environments, with deep knowledge of accounting fundamentals and meticulous attention to detail. You should have hands-on experience with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) and comfort adopting new automation platforms (n8n, Zapier). A "finance engineer" mindset is essential—you build scalable processes that reduce work and increase accuracy. Experience managing AP, expense, or corporate card programs (Ramp) is preferred. Technical proficiency required in QuickBooks Online, Rillet, or similar GL/ERP systems. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA is a plus. You'll have led or supported financial audits and demonstrate strong judgment about which activities should be automated versus requiring human review.
