1Password is a rapidly growing cybersecurity company ($400M+ ARR, Forbes Cloud 100 for four consecutive years) building the foundation for secure digital identity and access management. The company serves over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to innovative AI companies, with a market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneering Unified Access Management platform. As a Senior Commercial Account Executive focused on the Mid-Market segment in New York, you will own a strategic territory of high-growth accounts and existing customers with 500–2,500 employees, with emphasis on Fortune 1000 organizations. Your mandate is to create new executive relationships, build qualified pipeline, win complex multi-product platform opportunities, expand 1Password's strategic footprint across existing accounts, and secure new logos. This is not a transactional or single-product sales role. You will lead enterprise-wide security conversations, starting with a customer's most urgent problem and building the strategic case for Unified Access across humans, AI agents, and machines. You will engage and multi-thread with CISOs, CIOs, IT and security leaders, IAM teams, DevOps and platform teams, engineering leaders, security architects, finance, procurement, and other executive stakeholders. Critical to this role is deep sector fluency and demonstrated experience selling to financial-services organizations headquartered in or operating from New York City. You will navigate complex financial institutions, understand their buying cycles (security review, third-party risk, regulatory compliance, procurement, legal, testing, implementation), and map stakeholder groups to build internal consensus and win large, multi-year cybersecurity agreements. Key responsibilities include: developing and executing sophisticated account and territory plans; creating new executive relationships with CISOs, CIOs, and identity leaders; identifying whitespace and competitive displacement opportunities; building and maintaining pipeline coverage and deal velocity to achieve significant annual quotas; elevating conversations from point-product needs to strategic Unified Access vision; orchestrating 4–6+ month sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders; building broad, durable relationships throughout customer organizations; and partnering with BDRs, Solutions Engineering, Channels, Customer Success, and other teams. You will leverage AI daily to expedite administrative work and identify strategic opportunities. The role is remote and field-based, with a primary office in the New York metro area. You should expect regular in-person customer meetings, industry events, and travel throughout the territory, including to New York City as required. All go-to-market roles require in-person onboarding in Toronto. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years selling to Fortune 1000 organizations and high-growth companies (500–2,500 employees), with 2+ years of substantial cybersecurity sales experience - Consistent record of exceeding $1.5M+ annual quotas, including experience carrying quotas in the $1.5M–$3M+ range and closing complex, multi-product opportunities - Multiple years of elite sales performance and company recognition (President's Club or equivalent top-performer awards) - Demonstrated success selling multi-product platforms and broader solution transformations, not only transactional or standalone point products - Experience selling identity, Zero Trust, cloud security, endpoint security, privileged access, developer security, or adjacent cybersecurity platforms - Established, credible relationships with enterprise CISOs, CIOs, senior security and IT leaders, IAM leaders, and identity/security architects within the territory or relevant named-account segment - Proven ability to engage IAM, IT security, DevOps, platform engineering, and engineering leaders and connect their technical priorities to executive business case - Record of winning net-new strategic logos and expanding existing accounts through cross-sell, upsell, and multi-year platform agreements - Strong executive presence and ability to communicate credibly with C-suite leaders and deeply technical audiences - Rigorous account planning, pipeline creation, opportunity management, forecasting, and negotiation skills - Significant experience selling complex cybersecurity platforms to major banks, capital-markets firms, insurers, asset managers, fintech companies, or other financial institutions headquartered in or operating from New York City - Ability to build a network of CISO, CIO, CTO, security, identity, infrastructure, cloud, engineering, architecture, risk, and procurement leaders within New York financial-services accounts - Strong familiarity with financial-services buying cycles, including security and architecture review, third-party risk management, regulatory and compliance requirements, procurement, legal review, testing, implementation planning, and executive approval - Working knowledge of technology stacks and infrastructure common to large financial institutions (hybrid and multi-cloud environments, identity and privileged-access systems, endpoint controls, developer platforms, legacy infrastructure, highly regulated production environments) - Demonstrated record of mapping complex stakeholder groups, building internal consensus, navigating incumbents and competitive dynamics, and winning large, multi-year cybersecurity agreements within New York financial-services accounts BONUS POINTS: - Strong knowledge of identity and access management, privileged access management, credential security, machine identities, agentic AI security, SaaS governance, device trust, or secrets management - Experience competing and winning against major enterprise identity and cybersecurity platform providers - Proficiency with MEDDPPICC, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, and AI-enabled sales tools - Experience developing opportunities through channel partners, cloud alliances, systems integrators, or technology partners
