DiligenceSquared is an AI-native consulting firm delivering investment-grade market research and commercial due diligence powered by AI agents and experienced consultants. The founding team brings deep experience from Blackstone and BCG, backed by Y Combinator and Relentless. The client base includes 5 of the 10 largest private equity firms globally, representing over $3 trillion in combined AUM.
You will be DiligenceSquared's first dedicated quota-carrying commercial role, owning the full sales cycle from account strategy and outreach through discovery, proposal, negotiation, close and expansion. You'll work directly with founders to win new business and grow relationships with leading private equity firms. This is an individual contributor role focused on personal selling while helping build a disciplined, repeatable commercial approach. Strong performance could lead to broader GTM leadership as the team expands.
Key responsibilities include: owning a revenue target and building qualified pipeline; identifying priority funds and deal teams to convert into live opportunities; mapping relationships across sector teams, strategies and offices to expand existing accounts; leading discovery, coordinating follow-up, shaping proposals and navigating procurement; translating client needs into well-scoped engagements with appropriate commercial terms; improving account planning, messaging, CRM discipline, forecasting and measurement; and partnering across marketing, events, partnerships and project delivery to create commercial conversations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced seller of research, data, advisory services or private-market technology, or an exceptional candidate from private equity, commercial diligence, strategy consulting or investor relations with demonstrated origination and client development skills. You must understand how deal teams operate, how live transactions create demand and how senior investment professionals make buying decisions. You should be able to lead substantive conversations, ask sharp questions and earn trust without relying on scripted pitches. Full-cycle selling ability is essential—prospecting, discovery, proposal shaping, objection handling, negotiation and direct closing. A builder mentality is critical; you want to develop the commercial approach alongside founders rather than inherit an established playbook. You must stay organized through long, uneven sales cycles and maintain momentum after rejection or delay.
The role offers meaningful revenue responsibility at a YC-backed company with real client traction, direct access to founders, relationships with world-leading private equity firms, the opportunity to design the commercial playbook, meaningful early-stage equity, a path to broader GTM leadership, intellectually demanding work across complex industries and high-stakes decisions, and a small senior team with regular offsites and collaborative culture.

- Deep private equity fluency and understanding of how deal teams operate and buying decisions are made
- Credibility with senior clients and ability to lead substantive conversations
- Full-cycle selling capability across prospecting, discovery, proposal development, negotiation and closing
